Measurement principle:

To realize measurements, instructions are the same than Hot Disk. It's only necessary to put the sensor between two pieces of sample, with parallel faces.

Sensor is a warmth transmitter (resistive wire) and a temperature sensor (thermocouple): this method is fast and exact. We can realize measurements in a   asymmetric system (only one sample to characterize). In this case, the sensor is sandwiched between a sample piece and another material (these two materials must have very different thermal properties) such as Polystyrene. This option is adapted for measurements of quality control.

 

The Conductivity parameter is estimated from evolution of measured temperature with a thermocouple placed next to resistive wire.

The Effusivity parameter is estimated from evolution of measured temperature with a sensor placed in the middle of resistive plan.

We can measure liquids, powders or pastes.

When the set-up of sample  is done, entry experimental parameters in LECET software (Estimation Software of the Thermal Conductivity and Effusivity).
